In the United States, Trekkies undoubtedly waited in long lines last weekend to pack the latest cinematic passage to other worlds, Star Trek XI. Here in Bulgaria, Colleen, Ryan, Brett, and I walked up four minutes before start time and chose our seats in a theater with four, that's right, FOUR, other viewers. We oohed, we aahed, we laughed and we flinched as Kirk was reluctantly recruited into Starfleet, the Romulans and Vulcans battled across a time-space continuum, and Ohura and Spock made eyes at each other (??!!).
The verdict? 8 Thumbs up (Colleen's left, Colleen's right, Ryan's left, Ryan's right, Brett's left, you get the idea...)
Rotten Tomatoes gives it 96% and says it appeals to Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike. We agree. Go. Get your tickets today.
